A 1,400 ft reel of direct burial fibre will eventually connect the road-side garage to the house deeper on the property. We’ve received the cable and are planning the installation.

Powering Starlink at the garage

The road-facing front of the property has no tree cover which makes it the strongest location for Starlink on the property.
Grid power at the garage
While we are off-grid at the house, we intend to build a woodshop in the garage. That is best served by grid power, so grid power can also run Starlink without drawing from the house.
Less load on the house
Starlink and the woodshop will run on grid power at the garage, so they won’t draw on the house’s limited solar supply.
Waiting for the garage
We’ve received the cable and the network equipment and we had intended to already have this hooked up. However, we had a change of plans with the shipping container to garage. So, first comes the Garage project.
