The current four-panel array has worked well, but we’d like more solar budget in the final house. Once the house build ↗ is complete, we plan to replace the currently-temporary supports with a permanent mounting system.
The extension would take the array from four panels to eight. Because the replacement panels will likely have higher wattage, the goal is closer to 3x the current solar input than simply doubling.
For the new battery system, we are looking at EG4 indoor equipment ↗. Its has UL9540A test verification and UL 9540-listed system combinations. This is important for fire-safety and code compliance for equipment intended to be inside a Canadian house.
